Coming Up After The Break - Spring 2021 Fashion Aspirations

COMING UP AFTER THE BREAK…….

As we emerge from the dark depths of lock-down and we start to reopen our shops, we have something new and fresh to look forward to in the Spring and Summer of 2021.

Get ready for the new accessory trend for this summer in both colour and style.

Your outfit is never complete until you’ve chosen your final accessory and over the past few years this has proved to be equally as enticing as your clothing.

This season, any accessory is there to make a statement, either by its style or colour.

Colour this season is all about vibrancy, coming out of a tumultuous 2020 giving people a sense of hope and optimism, whilst refreshing their lives.

Look out for bright yellow, this will feature early on with grey which is still a strong addition. These colours are said to represent the -Sunshine Coming as the Clouds Disperse- very fitting for the current climate.

Illuminating colours and Sorbets are going to feature strongly with Neon being a fashion influencer, although this won’t be for the faint hearted.

Gold, Green, Marigold and Burnt Coral will live together beautifully, whilst pastels such as mint, peach and powder blue will feature, along with French blue and Ink.

Raspberry and Buttercream will also be seen in splashes, throughout the season.

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE BAG..

Probably the most important influential style this season is the traditional work bag and tote, encouraging the collective urge to return to something to match the work outfit, even if your work- place is still at home!

Hence one of the trends for 2021 being - ‘Supersize’

-carrying all your stuff just got a whole lot more stylish and convenient.

Unsurprisingly, Straw and woven textures will continue to be favoured and we’ll see the addition of large netted bags as we move through the season.

Whilst belt /bum bags have been a major player over the past few years, the new novelty on the rise is the dainty purse, worn draped around the neck or across the front. The ideal accompaniment for an evening out (when we are free to do so), or a stroll in the park.

Alongside all of this will remain your small, lightweight colourful crossbody or grab bag, for every occasion.

HEADSCARVES

Taking inspiration from the 50’s and 60’s these items are making a huge comeback this season.

Whilst the name suggests these are obviously worn to protect your hair/head. However, this season, this accessory is being styled in as many ways as you can think, as some of these images highlight – anything goes.

Have it hanging off the back of your head or around your neck. Mix this up with wrapping through your plait or dangle it from your bag – in a matching colour of course!

Choose from silky designs in floral motive or intricate patterns, or just keep it simple in plain bold colours, it’s up to you.

One accessory none of us should forget, is of course the face mask! Still likely to be part of our wardrobe this season and the only colour to be seen in, is black.

Whatever you choose this season it will feel like a re-awakening.

If you’re looking forward to going off on that long- awaited holiday, going to a family wedding which has been postponed three times over, going to the races (virtually or in person), or just looking to treat yourself, we have a delightful range of products for you to browse.

We have a fantastic group of knowledgeable staff, just waiting to assist you when we reopen our shops on 12th- April and we will be ready to welcome you with joy.
